Emerald Ash Borer

Call us to Save your ASH! Before it is too late. Emerald Ash Borer beetles have arrived in Vermont and are an invasive insect that damages ash trees by laying eggs under the bark of the tree. The beetle attacks all species of native ash trees and kills nearly 100 percent of infested trees within three years. Trees that are infested may look healthy, but they are at risk. Even before the Emerald Ash Borer kills an ash tree, the tree becomes structurally unsound, increasing the likelihood that the tree will break, uproot or shed large branches.

Unfortunately this means landowners will be forced to choose between treating or removing their ash trees. We can help you with your decision.

HERE’S WHAT TO LOOK FOR:

• A thinning tree canopy, caused by the inability of nutrients and water to reach the top of the tree.

• New young branches sprouting from the tree’s trunk

• D-shaped holes in the bark or branches, caused by the beetle emerging from the tree.

Stump Grinding

If your yard is plagued by one or more unsightly tree stumps, consider stump grinding to eliminate an unwanted stump after a tree has been removed.

Tree stumps present a serious inconvenience and may cause severe damage to your lawnmower if you hit one. Tree stumps also present a trip hazard in your yard and are particularly dangerous if you have children or seniors living in your home.

Often, new growth from a tree stump causes a cluster of small trees to pop up at its base. This group of young trees can also be damaging to any plants nearby because they will absorb water and nutrients from the soil for their own growth. Tree stumps also make a perfect home for insects like termites, wood borers, ants, and beetles, and should be removed to prevent these pests from making their way into your home.

What Clients are Saying!

I met Brett when I was in need of someone to cut down a couple of extremely tall and large trees in a small housing community.  Brett came and walked the property with me and explained his process and then provided me with a quote.

Brett’s work ethic is something you don’t often see these days.  He is timely, professional and sticks to his word. Brett goes out of his way to be sure that the work you need gets done and is happy to answer any questions you may have a long the way.  It is actually quite stunning to watch Brett work – I never knew that tree work would have me sitting on the edge of my seat with time flying by.

In the communities which I most often had Brett working there were tenants that were also interested in what he was doing.  Brett was always courteous to them – answering questions, giving them the details of what he had planned and just helping to put them at ease; saving me a lot of time in phone calls that could have come my way.

I have been working with Brett for years and would highly recommend him for any and all tree service needs that you have.
